Speakers:
Paul Sidi initially trained in the Law (LLB), went to work in the City as a Spot FX money broker, played Rugby Union at the highest level for Harlequins, and was in the England Squad for the 1984 Five Nations Championship. He moved to South Africa for 3 seasons to play for Wanderers in the Trek League, left to play for Manly in the Sydney League in Australia and finished his Rugby career in 1990, a bit broken. Physiotherapists had kept him playing for years so on finishing his playing career he went back to England and enrolled on a BSc Physiotherapy at Brunel University. He then worked for 2 years in the NHS in MSK outpatients then went to work for the Military for 8 years. He worked with the World Cup Winning England Team in 2003 and in 2013 he set up SIDI PHYSIO with the aim of bringing the multidisciplinary approach of the Military rehabilitation to the general public.
Guest speakers:
Dr Ilia Todorov, PhD graduated from Varna University with a degree in medicine. Since 2003 he has worked as a doctor at the Clinic of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in Saint Marina University Hospital, Varna and has achieved many further qualifications including specialisation in Manual Medicine and Neural Therapy. His scientific work includes 28 published articles, with topics incorporating Manual Medicine, rehabilitation of Parkinson’s disease and disc herniations, the methods of objectifying the findings of the Manual Diagnostics, physical and injection therapy of the frozen shoulder syndrome.
Adam Smith started his podiatry career with the NHS but is now in private practice. He trained at Queen Margaret University, graduating in 2009, and began his career as a podiatrist with NHS Lothian. From 2011-2018 he was an Acute Ward Podiatrist, also with NHS Lothian. Adam is now the podiatrist and owner of Adam Smith Podiatry and Healthcare on the east cost of Scotland. Adam currently serves on the Finance Committee and the Communications Committee. He is also a member of the Perception and Communications workstream arising from the Saks Report.
