We also have a strong ethos in scholars of the future to advance the knowledge and therefore the Shaykh may choose senior students who have qualified to teach. After completing 3 years / 3 levels and after qualifying there is no stop you may continue with Maturidi and study the specialist fields and either provide support or carry out your own research project with the guidance of Shaykh Atabek and other scholars. Our Islamic Scholarship program is highly flexible, allowing students to study modules at their own pace. We have an advisory timeframe of 3 years for completion. Examinations are held on a bi-annual basis for the modules already completed. We have a strong ethics in which we believe that the basic / foundation knowledge in each field should read everyone and therefore Shaykh Atabek has decided there will be no cost for these level 1 FREE - Basic / Foundation knowledge for modules. Continuous development - There is no end to learning, research and seeking knowledge. During our research if we believe, we need to go back to a text and further review and teach it with new principles we will do without hesitation.

You can choose from a timetable of matwork classes and with small class sizes there’s plenty of personal attention. Traditional open studio sessions are also offered for all levels of experience where you work to your own individual programme using the large studio apparatus, a system similar to how Joseph Pilates ran his studio. Private 1-1 tuition is available if you require more time and attention perhaps following injury and rehabilitation, or if you have specific athletic targets. Pregnancy and postnatal sessions are also available. About Karen Karen is an Accredited Member of The Pilates Foundation which runs the most extensive and rigorous teacher training programmes in the UK, qualifying both as a matwork and apparatus (comprehensive) teacher with the Foundation. Karen also qualified from the Lolita's Legacy comprehensive teacher training programme and as such is a 3rd generation Pilates teacher. Lolita's Legacy is the teacher training programme of Lolita San Miguel, a 1st generation Pilates teacher and one of the Pilates 'Elders' who trained with Joseph Pilates. Karen also holds a specialist certification in pre-natal and post-natal Pilates and is a member of the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise Instructors. Complimentary to this is the Adore Your Floor specialist pelvic floor coach training which Karen completed in 2019.

They are also keen to support parents and carers to navigate SEND processes to enable them to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children. Maree Thorn Maree filter Maree is an experienced teacher and SENCo who has worked in a wide variety of educational settings, including early years, primary, secondary, mainstream and special schools. She is currently commissioned by Bedford Borough Council as a SEND Teaching and Learning Advisor to support and advise local primary schools on their strategic SEND provision. She also provides specialist teaching for children and young people who cannot attend school for a variety of reasons, such as medical needs or school based anxiety. She has a Bachelor’s degree in primary education, Qualified Teacher Status, a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs Coordination and has gained the National Award for SEN Co-ordination. She has previous experience of being a school governor, and is currently a trustee for a local charity foundation, sitting on the board of school governors and fostering committee. Maree has experience of supporting senior leaders to review their SEND processes and identify areas in need of improvement within their settings; mentoring and coaching staff to improve their individual practices; and supporting governors and trustees to understand school requirements and their responsibilities. Maree has a diagnosis of ADHD and so fully understands the challenges that people who are neurodivergent can experience. With a family history of special needs, she has long had an interest in ensuring children with SEND are able to achieve their own individual outcomes and giving them the best opportunities for a full and rich life.

I started life as a primary class teacher with a scraped Grade VII piano and ‘O’ Level music as my only musical background. I was soon given the task of teaching music throughout a school of 4-8 year olds and realised I did not have the skills or knowledge to be able to do this effectively. My wise headteacher sent me on a Kodály course and my world started to change… Now, after many years of learning from amazing teachers, I am passionate about this wonderful, structured, joyful way to teach and to learn musical skills, knowledge and understanding – it is my raison d’être! I grew up with the unshakeable belief that I was ‘not musical’ – because I was never a good pianist, I couldn’t do aural tests, or sight-sing, or write a dictation; theory never made much sense to me. I perceived that ‘performance’, ‘aural’ and ‘theory’ were three separate entities. It was only Kodály study that made me realise that they are all interconnected and also part of this whole wonderful thing called ‘music’. It also unlocked all the music that was inside me and which I never knew was there. My passion is bringing musical skills, knowledge and understanding to a huge variety of people – to children; to adults who are both professional or amateur musicians; to both specialist and generalist teachers. I have realised that Kodály musicianship has so much to offer a vast range of people, including choral singers, class teachers and professional players. A particular interest in recent years has been discovering the benefits of Kodály musicianship to those working in different styles and genres, including pop, electronic music and modern a cappella singing.

Kelvin J. Birk produces jewellery as well as larger objects, mainly in silver and gold with all types of gemstones. Within his work he crushes precious gemstones and glues them back together, sometimes in a random uncontrolled shape, other times in a more controlled manner and then combines these stones with jewellery pieces or objects in precious metal. Within his work he is consciously disregarding what is traditionally considered precious. Birk revels in a lack of control, allows chaos to take over and the nature of the precious materials to dictate the final outcome of the pieces. His collection is constantly developing and through different creative processes new pieces emerge all the time, ensuring that no two are identical. Like the experiences of personal life, there is always destruction and loss yet out of these processes come new things and new orders. Kelvin J. Birk’s jewellery illustrates this theme of chaos and re-creation. There is always order in chaos, we lose things and we gain things. It is a constant. After Graduating in Goldsmithing and jewellery making at the Berufsfachschule fuer Glas und Schmuck, Germany, Kelvin J. Birk took his MA in Silversmithing and Jewellery (awarded with distinction) from the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art in London, UK (1997). Kelvin exhibited at various fairs and exhibitions in Great Britain, Europe, the USA, China and Taiwan. His work won him several prizes and awards and he received several grants from different funding bodies. His work has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and in a range of jewellery and design books. Kelvin is available for consultations and happy to discuss special commissions and bespoke pieces. He became a specialist in up-cycling old jewellery, where he recycles your unworn jewellery into a stunning new wearable piece of jewellery.

I discovered Pilates in my twenties after being diagnosed with a herniated disc in the lower back. The specialist consultant advised that a program of prescriptive pilates exercises would manage the condition, prevent pain and more importantly avoid future operations. I have been practicing Pilates ever since and I am an advocate of its benefits which include supporting life-long medical conditions, injury prevention and managing stress. I was trained by Cherry Baker, one of the UK’s Leading Pilates practitioners. I hold the highest qualification available in mat based Pilates and have been teaching for over 15 years. Following the success of Poynton Pilates I'm now running new classes at Bramhall Pilates. About Modern Pilates Modern Pilates is a respected and reputable training organisation and is trusted within the industry. Modern Pilates brings Joseph Pilates’ Classical approach into the 21st century by combining his principles with recent research.
