Raise standards, policies and practices across the football profession by
enabling players’ voice to be heard and players’ views to be taken into
consideration in key decisions about their sporting development. Facilitate
player understanding of the value of voluntary service, community and charity
participation, through meaningful and positive experiences, working with
football clubs, schools, charities and community organisations. Develop
programmes and activities in a ‘player-led’ way which builds the skills and
leadership qualities of players, develops opportunities for mentoring and
enhances access to education and training to offer opportunities for an
alternative career pathway for players in the event that they don’t make it as
professional footballers. Create volunteering and employment opportunities, to
help build career opportunities for 18 to 25 year olds who aspire to work in the
sports industry.
