We will come to your school at a time that suits you and run a 2-hour workshop for all staff. We will present in clear and simple terms the school’s duties under the Equality Act, help you guard against discrimination, and leave you with useful resources. How will this workshop help your school? This is a practical, "hands on" workshop designed to be engaging and constructive. Over and above helping your school fulfil its legal duties, it will help ensure that nobody is left behind or discriminated against. The workshop will show how all protected characteristics covered by the Equality Act 2010 can be reflected positively in everyday school life. It will consider real-life examples and make this more meaningful and relevant by inviting participants to bring their own examples of equality challenges in school. We will show you how to get the best out of CSIE’s toolkit ‘Equality: Making It Happen’ – a succinct and user-friendly set of reference cards to help schools promote equality – and leave you with at least two complimentary copies. Above all, the workshop will help develop a shared understanding and build a consistent response to diversity and equality. We understand that all schools are at different stages of this journey, so this workshop will assist you in determining next steps and areas of specific focus for your setting. What will the workshop cover? The workshop will: provide an overview of the Equality Act 2010, including the Public Sector Equality Duty and what it means for all schools bring awareness to unconscious bias and how it can influence our interactions present strategies for removing barriers to learning and participation address intersectionality and how it affects people’s experiences help develop confidence and language for discussing sensitive equality issues add flesh to the bones of all the above, by considering real-life examples Who is it for? The workshop has been designed for all primary and secondary school staff and governors; delivery is adjusted to the context of each school. We encourage all teaching and non-teaching staff to attend, so that your school can develop a coherent and consistent response to diversity and equality. The landscape is rugged but beautiful with high mountains, flowing rivers and large lakes. Based around Capel Curig in the National Park we will visit some hidden treasures, lakes, mountains, quarries and iconic vistas.A Snowdonia photography workshop and photo walk in Cwm Idwal amidst the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges, the glacial lakes of Llyn Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and the impressive Ogwen Falls. A workshop for beginners or anyone looking to further develop their landscape photography.Course content includes camera controls, use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition. The workshop involves walking to different viewpoints within Cwm Idwal on rocky, uneven paths and an ascent of 300ft to a viewpoint above the lake so a good level of fitness and mobility is required. Due to the terrain unfortunately the workshop is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.What do you need to bring with you?Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. Filters (if you have them) A packed lunch/snacks The relevant user manual for your camera Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia. A notepad and pen What happens in bad weather?I monitor weather forecasts and if conditions are predicted to be completely unsuitable, to ensure both your safety and enjoyment of the day, it may be necessary to cancel a workshop. I will endeavour to provide at least 24hrs notice, although this cannot always be guaranteed; you will be offered either a full refund or a place on a future course.

Painting & 'glazing' means to add colour & patterns to your pottery. Kicking off with a practical demonstration, we will take you on a step-by-step journey of the fundamental ceramic techniques of glazing (surprisingly there are a few). Each step requires practice but you'll be hands-on in no time learning each step of the journey as we go. We have pre-made pots to choose from, inlcuding cups, bowls and planters.  With your newly learned skills, you'll have what it takes to paint pottery and you can collect your finished works a few weeks later. We'll discuss when you can collect at the end of the workshop. All you need to do now is start thinking about your favourite colours and designs!
