Rebecca launched Siendo to give people the knowledge, tools and confidence they need to support their own wellbeing, at every stage of their lives. Training as a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor, Meditation & Yoga Teacher and Personal Development Coach while working in corporate banking gave Rebecca a unique perspective. She saw, first hand, the importance of proactive wellbeing support within high-performance environments and she knew this was an area where she could make a real difference; removing the stigma, encouraging conversations, and making wellbeing a priority in people’s lives. However, through experience, Rebecca understands that change only happens when people are empowered to make it themselves. Therefore, the driving mission behind Siendo is to provide clients with the tools, techniques and knowledge so that they have the power, confidence and capacity to build happy, healthy and high-performing cultures. After training over 1000 people in Mental Health & Suicide First Aid, with clients ranging from the NHS and The Big Issue to Nike and Oxford University, it is clear that every industry can benefit immensely from improved mental health awareness. Ladypool Primary School

ladypool primary school

My name is Mrs. Atherton and I am proud to be the Headteacher at Ladypool Primary School. Ladypool is a small, friendly and inviting school in the heart of Sparkbrook where we serve a community from a wide range of backgrounds. We pride ourselves on providing an environment where the children know how important their learning is and are committed to achieving their best. As a staff and governing body, we strongly believe that our children are entitled to the best education that we can provide. We are a UNICEF Rights Respecting School and all of our children know that they have the right to learn and play in the safe environment that we provide for them. At Ladypool we have enthusiastic and well-behaved, smart pupils who strive to do well in everything they do; the children are at the heart of every decision we make. We do our utmost to ensure that they are happy and confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future. Our school site consists of a Victorian building dating from 1883 which houses pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 and an extension and independent Nursery built in the 1970s which houses Early Years and Year 1. We have a sizeable outdoor space where the children play every day. The staff and governors at Ladypool are devoted to achieving an ambitious vision for the school; we firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and we value your input, interest and support.

Belhaven Hill School

Welcome to the Belhaven Hill School website. I hope that you enjoy this window into our wonderful school. Whether you are a parent looking for the best option for your family or an Old Belhavian keen to rekindle the magical relationships made during childhood, you would be so welcome to come and see us. Belhaven offers its children the very best start in life. Our core values of courage, creativity and courtesy encourage everyone at Belhaven to explore…whether it be our idyllic parkland campus and the beauty of the East Lothian coast or the mysteries of a broad range of subjects that stretch far beyond the curriculum. By promoting kindness, we continually support one another in the discovery of the world in which we live and seek to influence. The children’s exploration of this world, which starts with wonder at the growth of a seed or the hatching of a chick, can now be enhanced as they learn to harness the natural and digital resources around them; a well-positioned camera in a nesting box, controlled from a dormitory hideout by an app created in a combined Outdoor Education and Science lesson – that is the kind of composite experience that I wish for our children at Belhaven. In a school set up for boarding and day pupils, we have the enormous twin benefits of time and pastoral expertise. When these combine with ambitious children in a beautiful setting, there is no limit to what can be achieved. Come and see us to find out more – you can always be sure of a warm welcome. In the meantime, please do enjoy our website and our new video.

Louise Worthy Artist & Printmaker

louise worthy artist & printmaker

I am an artist and printmaker living in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. I am fashion and textiles trained (Bath Spa University and Manchester Polytechnic) which is where my love of printmaking started. I worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years as a designer. When I moved to Sutherland in 2005 I had the chance to be more hands-on creative and re-kindle my love of printmaking that had been simmering on the back burner since the early days of college. I take inspiration from my surroundings in the Scottish Highlands with its abundance of wildlife and vast range of contrasting landscapes, from the moors and mountains, waterfalls and lochs to the turquoise waters and white sands of the beautiful beaches. For a number of years I used a converted ACME mangle for producing my prints but then in 2012 I treated myself to a proper traditional etching press which is fabulous and much easier to use! My work includes various methods of printmaking; monoprint, drypoint etching, collagraph and lino cut and I also love mixed media techniques. I love the process of creating prints using different methods especially monoprints, where part of the fun is not knowing what the end result will be until the last minute. It can take hours of manipulating ink on the printing plate before they go through the press. I love experimenting and each finished piece is unique. I exhibit regularly in the Scottish Highlands including local galleries and my work is included in private collections in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand. I also teach workshops for individuals and small groups in various printmaking techniques.

I am here as an eternal student. Yogic practices found a way into my life after graduating from Fashion Design and in want of a whole new direction. The path I’d been on until graduation felt unaligned and this new vision took me to India where I travelled and studied for 8 months. One conversation with a complete stranger early on in my travels stuck with me. I was waiting outside about to go into my first yoga class since arriving. A few of us got to chatting about why we were there. One girl said she just wanted to get her daily meditation practice back. She said, “life is just better when you meditate. I don’t know why, it just is.” Since then I have learnt many techniques and found reasons why meditation enriches anyones life who is willing to dive in but this simple and profound statement is what I come back to again and again. Life is just better. During this time I went on to complete Inteyoga 200 hour teacher training in Mysore. I then returned the following year to complete the 500 hour course. This path and solid foundation took me back to the Isle of Mull, Scotland where I grew up to start teaching Inteyoga, an integration of traditional Indian Hatha yoga practices from the Sivananda and Krishnananda lineages. Since then I have developed a strong meditation and intuition practice which led me to visit London to complete reiki levels 1&2. This has been a beautiful revelation that allows me to give distance healings using this powerful universal life force to YOU wherever you are in the world!
