Founded in 2018, the Ayrshire Women’s Hub is a community interest company that focuses on supporting women and families. We work with women and families across Ayrshire who face hardships such as social isolation and loneliness, homelessness, sexual exploitation, abuse, addictions, mental and physical health problems, long-term unemployment, poverty and more. Our mission is to promote positive change and provide solutions that make a lasting impact within the community of Ayrshire. We provide a warm, friendly, safe environment, where women and families can come to get support, socialise, make friends and help empower each other through our workshops and group activities. In the three years that we have been providing our services we have helped assist thousands of vulnerable women and their families. Our highly trained team of support workers, community engagement officers and training and prevention coordinators bring a wealth of knowledge from various areas of health and social care and community learning and development. We deliver a holistic approach and work collaboratively with other services and organisations throughout Ayrshire to help achieve positive outcomes for our service users. The AWH has evolved and grown considerably since the organisation first began, and we hope to be able to continue providing our vital service for many years to come. Emotional & Practical Support We provide emotional and practical support to women, children & young people. As an umbrella organisation we are equipped to assist, refer & advocate on behalf of these groups. Entrepreneur, Content Creator and Author - Contrary to most entrepreneurs, I did not have a rough start growing up, however I did not have a silver spoon in my mouth either. I always had been entrepreneurial, however I struggled with creating a consistent income in order to support myself. After attending Uni, I bounced around multiple jobs. I worked at Apple and as one of their top sales people, they even had me teach groups of 90+ employees on how to deal with customers. Despite my success, I felt like I needed to get a "real career" so, I went into the corporate sales workforce, and quickly grew tired of the early mornings, long train rides, and constant repetition of the same bloody tasks. It was around this time that I discovered Amazon FBA and launched my first couple of products, I was still working my corporate 9-5 and would check my sales during lunch breaks and during my trips to the bathroom. Eventually, I was generating consistent results, so I decided to quit my job and go full time with FBA. After many months of my sales increasing, other people I knew who were doing FBA came to me asking for advice and mentorship. It dawned on me, why don't I create a full academy where I train students on how to get results with FBA? This was the start of the Seller Pro Academy, and since it's launch we have seen multiple students break 6 figures a year, which truly humbles and broadens my goals. I hope to see you inside the academy and hopefully to be apart of our 10K club!

Helens professional history included time working as a Senior Nurse Advisor at NHS Direct a Resuscitation Nurse Trainer in Devon and latterly as a School Matron in a private school. After a career of teaching music in Scottish schools, I took up pottery at night classes and became hooked enough to complete a B.A . Hons in Ceramics at the iconic Glasgow School of Art. It was here that I made many connections with wonderful potters the world over, and received a brilliant education in this magical material. I aim to show my delight in ceramic form , texture and colour with great attention to detail and concern for the practical use of functional pieces. I also love to experiment with the expressive and imaginative possibilities of glaze in purely abstract work. From 2007 -2019 my husband and I lived in Stromness, in the Northern Isles of Orkney. Here we were drawn by an amazing landscape, constant reminders of its Neolithic past, and by its unique cultural and natural heritage. Grounded in agriculture and fishery, submitting to the limitations of island life and the often very challenging weather, there is a discipline in living here which corresponds to working with clay- one cannot control everything but must work with what is given. In 2019 we moved south to the Scottish Borders to be closer to family. From being surrounded by sea, we are now in the most landlocked area of Scotland and surrounded by trees! These services will be part of the preventative work undertaken across Slough to enable people to get help closer to home and continue to be active members of their community. Part of the Cabinet paper seeks approval to bring the Carers service, that is currently provided by Slough CVS, back in-house when the contract expires in June. The suggestion is that carers assessments and some activities run currently by Slough CVS will be undertaken by a Carers Co-ordinator who will be part of the adult social care team in the council. As well linking in with carers support groups and supporting access to carers groups and activities within the community. Any changes in the service will be co-designed with carers and the wider voluntary and community sector. Marc Gadsby, executive director people (adults), said: “For any current users of Slough Carers Support, we don’t want you to worry about these suggested changes. If approved by Cabinet, bringing on board a Carers Co-ordinator to run the service as part of our team will mean we will continue to help and support our carers throughout Slough, building on the great work that Slough Carers Support have done.”
