Screen Acting Course for Actors, Intermediate & Advanced Level

The course is delivered IN-PERSON at the Actors Door Studio

Designed for aspiring actors with beginner level screen acting techniques, the Intermediate & Advanced Screen Acting Course offers an in depth tour into camera acting.

The course covers essential topics in Character, Facial Awareness, Confidence, Mastering Presence, Continuity, Camera Angles and Sizes and Set Survival.

A key focus of the course is for participants to learn how to ‘play the camera’, as they get to know the requirements of different shots and camera set-ups. Through specific, exercises attendees will learn how to position themselves in front of the camera, maximising impact. While improving body and facial awareness, actors gain mastery, confidence and control under the very ‘unnatural’ setting that is the film set.

Each week we will cover different topics, all important aspects of camera acting.

These include:

• Advanced Scene Analysis Skills
• Character Breakdowns
• Mastering Confidence on-set
• Improving on-screen body and facial awareness
• Adjusting Acting for Camera Angles and Sizes
• Mastering Presence and taking risks
• Set Survival

The classes run like mini workshops that involve a theoretical component, instruction, discussion, and plenty of on-camera practice sessions with playback for each participant. During playback, the tutor is able to evaluate on screen performances, providing participants with insights on their toolkit.

Your Tutor

The course is conducted by award winning film director and founder of the Actors Door Studio Fay Beck. Fay is considered one of London's leading coaches. She works with professional actors on audition technique, role preparation, developing screen presence and on optimising on screen performances. In her capacities as of both acting coach and film director, she is able to offer students deep insight into screen acting mastery.

Requirements

To join this course you must have completed the SCREEN ACTING COURSE, BEGINNERS or must have completed an intensive Screen Acting Course covering equivalent topics and skills.
